TROMPE L’OEIL CAESAR PAINTING

Working on a trompe l’oeil image of Caesar. I painted the entire image behind me on a flat canvas. Trompe l’oeil means “Trick the Eye,” which done properly, creates the illusion of a 3-dimensional object.

If you want some truly impressive art for your home or business, you may want to consider Trompe l’oeil. However, because of the time and skill required to achieve a true illusion, this style of art is typically more expensive than other styles. It can be created on canvas in my studio and installed in your home or business to minimize disruption to daily operations.

I’ve always been fascinated with great trompe l’oeil art, so I wanted to learn from the best. I recently completed Trompe L’oeil Mastery Level I, and a Technical Aspects of Mural Making with nationally acclaimed Master Public Artist William Cochran.

I spent 8 days at Big Oak Arts Studio in Placerville, CA, near Sacramento. A beautiful facility that offers a variety of classes and workshops. Sheri Hoeger, director of Big Oak Arts is a gracious hostess and instructor. For more about classes: www.bigoakarts.com. I highly recommend these classes for serious artists wanting to take their art “to the next level.” For more about William Cochran visit www.williamcochran.com.
