The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one.” Malcom Forbes

ARTS IN EDUCATION: Evidence-based research confirms what most people already know to be true in their hearts and minds: The arts make a significant contribution to helping all students achieve success in school, work, and life.  Yet, as we celebrate the arts for the value they add to learning and life, art in our schools is tragically disappearing. There is a disproportionate share of loss in poor, inner-city schools and rural areas. (Taken in part from Critical Evidence: How the Arts Benefit Student Achievement)

"The arts benefit communities as well as individuals. Cities and towns with flourishing
cultural activities attract business and tourists and provide tremendous incentives for families.
There are wonderful models in Massachusetts and across the country of communities
that have integrated cultural institutions into revitalization efforts. They have strengthened their
economies and greatly improved quality of life in their neighborhoods."
